The Long Road
In Yorkshire in the 1920s, the Lingard family are living hand-to-mouth. When they are evicted from their home, they face absolute destitution. In their struggle to survive they make enemies as well as friends, but their determination to survive is strong. At first they eke out a living on the wild Yorkshire moors and eventually move to London. With family loyalties so strong, it begins to look as if personal happiness might be attainable.
