On each day of the year, the "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas" event series sets out to prove that this claim has truly become a reality in many parts of our country. In the lead-up to 2007, the nation-branding initiative and Deutsche Bank again launched a nationwide contest for the most forward-looking and viable innovations. This time 1,500 applications were received - even more than last year.

In all areas of social life, they realise a vision that should form the basis of any innovation policy: instead of squandering the future, they use science, research and modern technologies responsibly, with the goal of giving succeeding generations the prospect of a future worth striving for and reinforcing this.
